So how do you go about researching the music of South America? By chance a colleague shared with me this awesome website soundsandcolours.com. I also received one of their books on Argentina as a Christmas present. I haven’t looked back. I now have the Brazil and Peru books too! They come with CDs so you can immediately immerse yourself.
By far my favourite track is Marinera by Mariana Paraway, who comes from Mendoza in Argentina. The song definitely invokes a feeling of ‘hope of the possible’ which surely translates into sound what travel is all about.
I wonder once there how the landscapes will enhance the music I will experience?
